Snowshoeing mini stay in the Southern Alps (Gap)

Description

I propose a mini snowshoeing stay in my lodge in the Hautes-Alpes, with all the comforts of home and a spa to relax in.

The snowshoeing trips take place off the beaten track and away from the hustle and bustle of the resorts.
During this stay, you will have the opportunity to do 3 hikes in totally different atmospheres and places:

• a sunset hike: don't forget the headlamp for the descent in the calm and depth of the night,
• a day hike to discover the sumptuous landscapes of the Champsaur, gateway to the Écrins,
• a hike in our French Dolomites... the Dévoluy massif and its chorums.

So come and make your tracks under the sun of the Hautes-Alpes... we promise you 300 days of sunshine a year! You will appreciate the incomparable feeling of freedom and the pleasure of leaving your tracks in the virgin snow.

Snowshoeing remains the most suitable way to discover the mountains in winter and surprise the animals without disturbing them. You may have the opportunity to observe chamois, ibex, ptarmigan or hare...

I invite you to disconnect from your daily life during this mini stay in a preserved nature.

Note: if you have a group and you wish to manage the meals between you, it is possible! The price of the self-catering stay is 205 € per person.

Program

Possible arrival the day before the stay at the lodge for more comfort, for a supplement of 60€.

D1: Night snowshoeing.
I welcome you in our comfortable gîte from 1pm.
At 1.30 pm, departure for the night hike. We will evolve in another world through a mysterious and muffled atmosphere conducive to relaxation and the awakening of the senses!
Don't forget your headlamps for the descent after sunset. Afterwards, we will return to share our emotions over a mountain meal.

D2: Snowshoeing in the Champsaur.
Departure at 9am from the lodge after having had breakfast and prepared the picnics.
Today we head for the Champsaur. We will choose the side of the trail (north or south) depending on the quality of the snow at the time. Our outing will be between 350 and 500 meters of difference in altitude depending on the group. About 3 to 5 hours of walking.
This outing will be punctuated by an avalanche rescue session with analysis of the snow cover and the use of safety equipment in a playful way.
On the way back, you will taste the famous tourtons of Champsaur and the local cheese.

D3: Snowshoeing in the Dévoluy massif.
Departure at 9am for a very different area and mountain than the two previous days. We will leave for the Dévoluy massif, with its very jagged mountains and its guaranteed atmosphere. You will not remain indifferent! It can be very hot or very cold!
You may be able to observe the chorums, meet chamois. The cliffs are impressive and base jumping is a local sport, as is caving. We will hike between 350 and 500 meters of difference in altitude, depending on the group, through the French Dolomites. About 3 to 5 hours of walking.
We will leave in the afternoon, after two days rich in emotions, invigorated by the beauties that nature has offered us.

NB: Depending on the weather, snow conditions or any other reason beyond my control, I may have to modify this programme exceptionally.
My local presence in the heart of the massifs allows me to respond to these constraints as best I can without affecting your stay.

• Supervision by the mountain leader.
• Relaxation session in the spa.
• Transport from Gap to the accommodation if necessary.

• Transport to and from Gap.
• Cancellation / assistance / repatriation insurance.
• Drinks.
• Personal expenses for visits or other outings.
• Possibility of hiring equipment: snowshoes and hiking poles (7€/day) and safety equipment (avalanche transceiver, shovel, probe: 10 €/day).
• Anything not mentioned in "The price includes".
