Cady canyon (Canigou, Eastern Pyrenees)

Description

I propose you to go in the massif of Canigou, the emblematic mountain of the Catalan region in the heart of the Eastern Pyrenees, to go through the magnificent canyon of Cady, for a wild and secluded adventure canyon in the mountains.

It is an intense and sustained experience that awaits you during this day. This course is aimed at a sporting  public, in good physical condition and having already practiced the canyoning activity.

Carved in the granite, this canyon is sinuous and aquatic. Located in a real green setting and surrounded by vertiginous cliffs, it offers splendid views on the Catalan back country.

This canyoning trip takes place in a crystal-clear river and is great fun, with many obstacles, some of them spectacular:

• abseiling down to 15 meters high,
• jumps up to 12 meters (not mandatory),
• a multitude of slides, sometimes very impressive, including the famous "Bec du canard" (duck's beak) and "Catalan roulette", about 20 meters long.

For more comfort and conviviality, the outing is done in small groups of 8 persons maximum.

Note: the Cady canyon is only accessible from the beginning of August to mid-September.

If you feel like other water adventures, I also propose other very beautiful canyons in the Pyrénées-Orientales:

• the Galamus canyon in Saint-Paul-de-Fenouillet,
• some canyoning in Molitg,
• the Llech canyon,
• some canyoning in the Gourg des Anelles,
• and the nearby Taurinya gorges canyon.

Program

• Meeting point in the village of Vernet-les-Bains, about 10 minutes drive from Prades and one hour from Perpignan.
• Equipment distribution and briefing.
• One hour of approach walking to the start of the canyon.
• Approximately 5 hours of canyoning descent.
• One hour walk back to the parking lot.

The price includes

• Supervision by the canyoning instructor.
• The technical equipment necessary for the practice of the activity (neoprene suit, helmet, harness, belay device, etc.).
• Canyoning shoes.
• A canyoning backpack.
• Photos.
• Several packages:
  • Collective outing (I form a small group).
    Price: 115€ / person.
  • Private outing.
    From 1 to 4 persons: 500€.
    From 5 to 6 persons: 690€.

The price does not include

• Transport to and from the meeting point in Vernet-les-Bains.
• Picnic lunch.
• Snacks.
• Drinks.
• Anything not mentioned in "The price includes".
