Hiking mini-stay in the Southern Alps (Gap)

Description

Come and discover the great diversity of landscapes that the region of Gap, the "soft capital" of the Hautes-Alpes, has to offer you! During this mini-stay, I prefer loop hikes which are always more pleasant!

The star-shaped stay that I set up, offers you a great diversity in term of landscapes and bears well its name! Indeed, I propose you to visit three places not to be missed in the Hautes Alpes:

• Provence with its superb summits and gorges,
• the French Dolomites with its chorums and its lunar landscapes,
• the Hautes-Alpes with its lakes, its waterfalls and its emblematic summits!

However, I propose but you can choose! You will be able to choose between the "Alpine" or the softness of Provence. I adapt the program as well as possible in order to satisfy the desires of each one and in the respect of the group.

Note: if you have a group and you want to manage your meals, it is possible! The price of the self-catering stay is 205€ per person.

If you prefer different lengths of stay, I also offer throughout the summer:

• a hiking and relaxation weekend in Gap,
• and a 6-day hiking stay in the Hautes-Alpes.

Program

It is possible to arrive at the lodge the day before for more comfort, for a supplement of 65€.

D1: Hiking in the Céüze massif.
I welcome you at 2pm in our comfortable gite based in the city of Gap.
No time to lose, we leave for our first hike in the Ceüze massif.
We evolve on ridges where we may have the chance to observe chamois, brown-coated mountain animals. Once we reach the top, we have various possibilities to return, depending on your wishes. We return to enjoy a well-deserved mountain meal and share our emotions.

D2: Hike to the Aiguilles de Chabrières.
We leave the gite at 9.30am to reach the Réallon resort to start the hike to the Aiguilles de Chabrières! We cross a forest of larches where we can cross pretty roe deers! Arrived on the ridge we have a superb view on the lake of Serre-Ponçon. Then, we begin the ascent of the "aiguilles" and take a passage in a chimney to reach the summit at 2349 meters of altitude. The splendid 360° view will dazzle you! Then we go back down to the pass for a picnic. On the way back, you have the opportunity to see the entrails of the Serre-Ponçon dam which is 123 meters high and 600 meters wide.

D3: Hiking on the heights of Sisteron.
For our last day of hiking, we go near the clue of Sisteron. We can see some climbers there. We go up south in the shade of the oaks on the Baume mountain. Then we cross a cave whose first part is a little lit by two windows offering a nice view on the Durance valley. Then we go through a darker part to exit through a cat flap. At the exit, we join the ridge by some steep passages (presence of cables for more security). We picnic at the top (1147m), enjoying a nice view of the Citadel of Sisteron. Finally, during our descent (by a forest track), obligatory passage in the "old Sisteron" to quench our thirst before closing our beautiful hike!
