Description

Come and discover the snowy expanses of the largest nature reserve in France. In the heart of winter, with snowshoes on our feet, we will explore these high wild plateaus of the Vercors massif and we will spend the night in the spirit of the trappers of the north, in an isolated hut. And it is with the wood stove that we will cook a mountain meal.

In short, you will live a snowshoeing weekend, with raclettes, full of conviviality and a wild escapade in the Vercors.

I also offer beautiful winter immersions in the Beaufortain mountains, discovering the Outray mountain pastures and climbing the Grand Mont d'Arêches with snowshoes.

Program

D1: Beure plateau.
Meeting at 9am at Grenoble or Valence TGV station or directly at Rousset pass at the end of the morning if you come by car. After a check of the backpacks and the equipment, we distribute the food for the outing. We will start this itinerary by the crests of the Beure plateau before entering the natural reserve of the Vercors high plateaus. In this wilderness we will progress towards an old sheepfold where we will spend the night. A real wild and isolated experience in an exceptional place, facing the Mont Aiguille. Nordic atmosphere guaranteed, with mountain cooking on a wood fire.
4 to 5 hours of walking.
Night in a refuge, in dormitory.

D2: Snowshoeing in the natural reserve of the Vercors highlands.
Trapper's breakfast and early departure to explore the wild places of the high plateaus. Multiple itineraries are possible to discover the virgin spaces of the reserve. This will be an opportunity to learn the techniques of navigation and route preparation in winter. Return to the Rousset pass around 4 pm.
5 to 6 hours of walking.
