Description

Do you want to become a mountain leader? Then it is important to prepare yourself for the probationary exam!

I organize training courses in Gap (Hautes-Alpes) during which you can fullyprepare yourself for this exam which includes two tests: an orienteering walk with markers to find on the ground and a written test on your general knowledge of the mountain.

The probationary exam is between 95 and 70% failure rate for the candidates who take it: it is therefore essential to prepare seriously!

The program focuses on the following items:

Orienteering: technical work in the classroom and in the field.
Work on the MCQ.
Preparation of your equipment and your exam.
Exchange on the mountain leader training.

Price of 370€ / person for 5 people registered, then decreasing price according to the number of participants.

It is also possible to participate only in an orienteering race and the mock exam for a price of 100€ per person (for 2 days of training).

Program

D1:

Morning:
- Welcome and introductions.
- Orienteering theory, equipment and map/land relationship.
Afternoon: Orienteering.
End of day: Presentation of the probationary test, expectations and prerequisites.

D2:

Morning: Technical work and orienteering strategy.
Afternoon: Star-shaped orienteering course with application of what has been learned.
End of day: Probationary MCQs and written assessment on the theme of orienteering.

D3:

Morning: Orienteering course.
Afternoon:
- End of orienteering course.
- Corrected MCQ from previous day.
- MCQS.
End of day: Free discussion on the content and organization of the mountain leader training course.

D4:

Morning: Orienteering.
Afternoon:
- End of orienteering course.
- Material required for the exam.
- Pre-exam strategy.
End of day: Free time and individual preparation for the mock exam.

D5: Mock exam.

The price includes

Supervision of the training by the mountain leader.
Accommodation in comfortable gites with bed linen provided.

The price does not include

Transport to and from Gap in the Hautes-Alpes.
Transfers to the orienteering courses (carpooling possible between students).
Food (self-catering accommodation).
Drinks.
Anything not mentioned in "The price includes".
