Mazamet via ferrata (Tarn)

Description

I would like to give you the chance to experience the thrills and excitement of the Arnette gorges in a different way, by joining forces on the Mazamet via ferrata, located above and below the Himalayan footbridge leading to the medieval village of Hautpoul. In the heart of the Tarn region, this route, accessible to beginners and children aged 7 and over, is perfect for discovering the activity and enjoying the magnificent surroundings and views.

After a twenty-minute approach walk in the woods, it is time to start the bolted route in the cliff. The via ferrata gradually rises above the river, and it is possible to cross from one bank to the other via 3 different and successive zip lines, but not mandatory. But it would be a shame not to take them! Between the ziplines, you move along a rocky, fun-filled itinerary with its many beams and monkey bridges. Once we have reached the footbridge, we continue up the rock to the Château d'Hautpoul. After a well-deserved break, it is time to head back to the parking lot, thanks to a final zip line - the highest and longest of all - and some easy walking.

Program

• Meet at the via ferrata parking lot in Mazamet, about an hour and a half's drive from Toulouse or Béziers and an hour from Albi.
• Equipment distribution and briefing.
• 20-minute approach walk to the start of the via.
• Approximately 2.5 hours on the via ferrata.
• 20-minute return walk to the parking lot.
• In all, count on about 3 hours of activity.

The price includes

• Supervision by climbing instructor.
• Loan of safety equipment adapted to the activity: harness, helmet, via ferrata lanyard with energy absorber, rope, pulley, etc.
• Individual insurance.

The price does not include

• Transport to and from the via ferrata parking lot in Mazamet.
• Snacks.
• All drinks.
