Description
Over the past few years, as the level of climbers has risen and equipment has evolved, traditional climbing has once again come to the fore. While the spit has revolutionized sport climbing, setting up your own protection to ensure your safety is a whole new game, and adds tenfold to the pleasure of climbing.
So, during this 3-day course, you'll be able to practice placing your own protections, make your own crack gloves, climb the lines with fist and foot jamming, and set off for great street battles on the mythical sandstone of Annot in the Alpes-de-Hautes-Provence.
During these "trad" climbing sessions, you'll discover the different belaying devices, learn new moves, get out of a tight spot on a multi pitch route by putting on your protection and/or using aid climbing. All the courses in Annot have been great moments of emulation, discovery and progress. You'll come away changed!

Program
Here's an idea of how these traditional climbing sessions are organized in Annot. The program is based on the level and motivation of the participants. It is therefore not contractually binding.
D1: Meeting point in Annot, aid and trad climbing.
Meet around 9.30/10am, then coffee and croissants in the village.
Review of equipment before heading to the climbing site.
Aid climbing practice to check that the protection are OK.
Glove-making workshop (to support the bolts).
And then we climb, test, get caught, put on pedals... everything goes, in top-roping or lead climbing!
D2 and D3: Traditional climbing in the cracks of Annot.
Now that you've got the hang of it, it's time to get to work and wear out your clothes in the sandstone cracks!
Putting into practice the techniques you learned the day before on one-length routes, from 5b to 7a, top-roped and top-roped. The aim is to progress while having fun and squealing a little...
D4, D5 and more if you feel like it: Possibility of extension.
Depending on your wishes, the 3-day course can be extended. Here, or elsewhere, on the beautiful cliffs of the Verdon gorges, the Calanques of Marseille and Cassis or elsewhere.
The price includes
- Supervision by the mountain guide.
- Loan of technical equipment.
- Removable protection: friends, cams, etc. and crack gloves for testing.
The price does not include
- Transport to Annot, about an hour and a half's drive from Digne-les-Bains or Nice.
- Accommodation and food.
- Drinks.
- Your rolls of strap for making gloves.
- Anything not mentioned in "The price includes".
