Canyoning in the Haut Chassezac gorges (Cévennes)

Description

I propose you to come and follow me on a canyoning trip down the Haut Chassezac gorges, an adventure that will take you through spectacular scenery in the heart of the Ardèche region. This guided canyoning trip promises to be an exciting day!

All along the way, you will be able to admire the deep gorges of the Chassezac river, as you make your way through its crystal-clear waters. You will cross waterfalls and natural slides, let yourself be carried along by the current, jump into natural pools, abseil down waterfalls and swim in beautiful and clear waters surrounded by unspoilt nature for an unforgettable experience.

I will also give you advice on how to improve your techniques and make the most of this exceptional canyoning adventure.

The trip is open to anyone in good physical condition (no experience required) and with no medical contraindications to canyoning. You must be at least 12 years old, be able to swim and weigh less than 120 kg.

The schedule is subject to change at the last minute, depending on weather conditions, water levels, number of people registered, etc.

If you are interested in other routes in the region, you can follow me down the Haute Borne gorges in Ardèche. You can also vary your sensations by embarking on the Jardin d'Endieu via corda in Berrias-Casteljau.

Program

• Meet around 9am at the Chassezac lookout (48800 Prévenchère).
• Allow 45 minutes' drive from Les Vans, 1 hour and fifteen minutes from Ruoms and Alès, 1 and a half hour from Vallon-Pont-d'Arc and Aubenas, 1 hour and 45 minutes from Larnas and 2 hours from Bagnols-sur-Cèze.
• Approach walk of 20 minutes.
• Approximately 4 hours and a half of activity in the canyon.
• 30-minute return walk.
• In total, around 5 hours of activity, without including the picnic lunch break.

The price includes

• Supervision by the canyoning instructor.
• All the equipment you need for the activity: neoprene wetsuit and socks, helmet, canyoning bag, waterproof can, canyoning shoes (sizes  from 33 to 48).
• A photo report of your outing.

The price does not include

• Transport to and from the activity spot.
• Swimming costume.
• A sandwich-type picnic (no crisps or bananas).
• At least 1 litre of water (plastic bottle) for 2 people.
• Snacks (cereal bar).
• A lanyard if you wear glasses.
• An elastic band to tie up long hair.
• A change of clothes after the activity.
• Anything not mentioned in "The price includes".
