Infos & BookingDescription
Embark on an exceptional journey with us to the Manaslu Circuit Trek starting from Barpak, an added beauty of the lower Manaslu to the already amazing trek. This longer version of the Manaslu Circuit Trek is a perfect opportunity for those seeking diverse landscape and cultural experiences.
The trek starts from Barpak, a large Gurung and Ghale community village with a view of Boudha Himal in the backdrop. It was also the epicenter of the devastating 2015 earthquake. The trek then passes from dense Gurung villages like Laprak, Gumda, Yamagaun, and Lapsibot where you can experience and explore the local lifestyle of the villagers. Panoramic views of mountain ranges like Ganesh Himal, Shringi Himal, and Boudhha Himal can be seen during the trek. Trekking through beautiful terraced farmlands, forests, waterfalls, etc., you will finally rejoin the usual Manaslu Circuit trailhead at Machhakhola.
The trek then follows the Budhi Gandaki River to the alpine highlands passing through quaint villages, waterfalls, farmlands, suspension bridges, etc. And finally, the trek makes its way to the Annapurna region through the challenging Larke Pass (5106m). The view from the pass is breathtaking and rewarding, which can make anyone forget the difficulty endured during the climb. In the higher regions, one can observe the practice of Tibetan Buddhism with monasteries, mani walls, chortens, and prayer flags along the trails and the villages.
The Manaslu Circuit Trek from Barpak is a diverse trek that takes you from the low valleys to the alpine areas close to the high mountains. The trek is itself a wonderful experience of culture as you’ll be walking through the villages of various ethnic communities like Ghale, Gurung, and Nubri observing their daily lifestyle, religious practices, and beliefs. You’ll be trekking through some of the most stunning landscapes and picturesque trails. Splendid views of various peaks can be seen throughout the trek including the 8th highest peak of the world, Mt. Manaslu standing at a staggering height of 8167 meters altitude from sea level.
