Description

Do you dream of long, beautiful abseils in a waterfall with a breathtaking view of Cilaos? This is the place!

The Fleurs Jaunes full canyon is one of the most beautiful canyons on Reunion Island! You will first enjoy the 7 abseils, ranging in height from 15 to 55 meter, of the classic course - on your own, but under my supervision - which also features a few small jumps and slides, as well as an optional long slide for the more adventurous... This first section corresponds to the classic Fleurs Jaunes canyon.

We will then walk for about 30 minutes along the bottom of the canyon, which is dry on this section, to arrive at the edge of a beautiful, little-known pool where we will have our picnic lunch. You can also jump and slide to your heart's content before resuming our descent.

It is a gentle start with a 30-meter abseil that leads to the vertiginous 90-meter spider-wire abseil that you won't soon forget... This will take you to the heart of the mythical “Chapelle”, a breathtaking entrance to one of Réunion's most famous hiking destinations. Then count on a 2-hour return hike on a beautiful GR trail!

This descent of the Fleurs Jaunes canyon is accessible from the age of 14 to anyone capable of walking for two hours on a steep ascent without insurmountable vertigo.

If you are in the mood for other long, magnificent runs on Réunion Island, I would also recommend the full descent of the nearby Bras Rouge canyon (also available in its classic version) or the magnificent Trou Blanc canyon in Hell-Bourg. And beginners can opt for the descent of the Langevin river.

Program

Meet in the town of Cilaos.
Equipped with neoprene wetsuits and safety gear.
10-minute approach walk to the start.
About 4 hours down the canyon.
Return walk of two hours to the parking lot.
