Infos & BookingDescription
Let's set off together for the Trou Blanc canyon, the most playful of Réunion Island's discovery canyons... and my personal favorite! Located in the heart of the Cirque de Salazie and at the foot of the Piton des Neiges, this natural aqualand is perfect for an initiation with family or friends in a mineral gorge and emerald-coloured water.
After a 30-minute approach walk offering a magnificent panoramic view of the Salazie cirque, we start straight away with a vertiginous via corda followed by a 40-meter spider-wire abseil. Then it is on to a real natural water park! Numerous slides with evocative names (washing machine, squeegee, etc.) and jumps (never mandatory) follow one another without a moment's pause, in an incredibly narrow geological space, until we reach a more open section where we have our picnic lunch in the sun.
Then it is off again for another series of jumps up to 10 meters high and slides up to 16 meters (including the spectacular particle gas pedal). Two other abseils and a final splash zip line complete the picture, making this canyon an absolute must, fun and very complete.
This descent of the Trou Blanc canyon is accessible from the age of 14 to anyone able to walk for an hour on a steep ascent without insurmountable vertigo.
If you fancy more canyoning descents in Réunion Island, I would recommend the magnificent canyons of Cilaos: the canyon of Fleurs Jaunes (also available as a full-day version) and the canyon of Bras Rouge (also available as a full-day version) or, further south, the introductory canyon of the Langevin river.
