Infos & BookingDescription
I invite you to join me every Tuesday and Saturday in winter, in the late afternoon, for a sunset ski tour in the Aravis mountains!
If you are a ski touring enthusiast, watching the sun set while doing so is an unforgettable experience.
From January to March, I organize group outings every Tuesday and Saturday evening to watch the sun set over the most beautiful panoramas in the Aravis massif. These outings are open to experienced ski tourers in good physical condition.
Equipment to bring:
- Your own ski touring equipment (rental available if required).
- A 20 to 30-liter backpack.
- Clothing suitable for winter mountain sports.
- Snacks and drinks for the evening.
To sum up:
📅 When: Every Tuesday and Saturday in winter.
📍 Where: Aravis massif.
⏰ Departure: meet at 5.30pm on site (place to be defined together).
Depending on my availability, I may be replaced by a fellow mountain guide from the Compagnie des Guides des Aravis.
You can also follow me all winter long for:
- off-piste skiing in the Aravis resorts,
- ski touring in the Bornes or Aravis massifs,
- and avalanche search training in the Bornes or Aravis massifs.
Program
- Meet at 3.30pm directly on site (check with me depending on conditions).
- Checking of everyone's equipment and safety briefing.
- We then set off for a hike of around one hour and a half, and at sunset we take a break to contemplate the last glimmers of sunlight setting the horizon ablaze, before turning on our headlamps and getting ready for the descent.
- The descent is not to be underestimated, though it's easy by day, but once night falls it's a different story.
- The return to the starting point is scheduled for 6.30pm.
The price includes
- Supervision by the mountain guide.
- Loan of safety equipment (avalanche beacon, shovel, probe).
The price does not include
- Transport to and from the start of the hike.
- Technical ski equipment.
- Accommodation if required.
- Snacks / meals.
- Drinks.
- Civil liability insurance.
- Anything not mentioned in "The price includes".
As ski touring is an activity that involves a degree of random risk, we strongly advise you to take out:
- Holiday cancellation insurance if you are on vacation.
- Daily indemnity insurance if you are self-employed.
- An insurance policy tailored to your social and family situation.
