Infos & BookingDescription
Come and experience 4 incredible days of sailing and multi pitch climbing in the mythical Calanques of Marseille and Cassis.
Departing from the port of l'Estaque in Marseille (where you can leave your car), we will embark on four days that are both intense and relaxing. While we are sailing, you will be able to admire the breathtaking scenery of the Calanques as it unfolds before us, while learning navigation techniques. Then we will use a small boat called a dinghy to take us directly from the sea to the climbing spots. Here, you will learn and/or revisit certain climbing techniques, using a gentle, caring approach.
These adventures are enhanced by occasional swimming and convivial meals.
Nights are spent on the boat, anchored in the tranquil Calanques of Sormiou, Morgiou...
Here are a few examples of cliffs we can go climbing on:
- Les Goudes: Located not far from Marseille, the "Rocher des Goudes" offers numerous routes, most of them historic and around a hundred meters high. This south-facing cliff is perfect for climbing on Mistral days.
- La Calanque de Sormiou: This is the place to go for magnificent multi pitch routes at affordable levels. You can choose between the Bec and its vertical climbing, the extreme Bec ridge and its incredible atmosphere above the water, the easy Dièdre Guem and its incredible rock, the isolated white rock slabs of the Rumpe Cuou sector with route starting at water level, and many other cliffs.
- La Calanque de Morgiou: You will have to choose between the historic routes of the Crêt Saint-Michel or the more recent itineraries of the Cancéou cliff, some of which offer a completely hallucinatory caving atmosphere.
- The Belvédère cliff: This aptly named cliff is directly accessible by boat. There are some magnificent crossings at a very affordable level.
- La Calanque d'En-Vau: This is certainly the most beautiful of the Marseille and Cassis Calanques. The vertical limestone cliffs surround the turquoise-blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea, and the historic routes that run through them are logically set in an exceptional ambience.
About the boat: Marie Lutin II is a 13-meter ketch (2 masts). An ocean-going and expedition sailboat, it will surprise you with its comfort both at sea and at anchor in the creeks. Its numerous stowage spaces, spacious cabins and central saloon make it an ideal base camp for sharing and relaxing after the day's activities. 3 double cabins are available on board, as well as a fully equipped galley and shower room. Snorkeling equipment is available on board. The flush-deck offers plenty of seating to enjoy the scenery and the navigation.
You are in for three days you won't soon forget!
On the same boat, I also offer 3 days of climbing and sailing in the Calanques. But also climbing and yoga courses in the Baronnies, 4-day or 3-day climbing courses in the Drôme of Provence and a climbing and acroyoga course in the Baronnies.
