Description
What this part of the United States of America reminds me of is the Kelly McGuillis bath in Witness... but also the red sandstone walls of Monument valley - a street-fighting paradise for those who love crack climbing - and of course the quality of the snow that falls every winter. Deep, dry, continental snow. The kind that drips over your shoulders if you bend your knees.
And while the price of lifts means we are pretty well off in Europe (250$ a day in Alta), the forests and wide-open spaces on this side of the planet are just waiting for your silky skins to make beautiful curves. Wolverine pass, Powder junction, Twin peaks, Loga perdido are all names that make you want to go even higher, even further.
The organization of this Utah ski touring trip is in a "cool" mode, with accommodation in Airbnb or camper van.
This trip is aimed at good, autonomous ski tourers who are used to dedicated ski trips and good skiers in all types of snow.
In short, it is a trip full of freedom, to trail wherever the wind and powder take you.
Departure is guaranteed for this trip, whatever the number of participants.

Program
D1: Arrival in Utah and installation.
Flight to Salt Lake City, pick up truck and drive to base camp.
Dinner in town, then evening in town or at the lodge/camping car.
D2 to D7: 6 days of ski touring.
Each day we will explore the surrounding area, tracing the forests and reaching the summits, to enjoy the views of these great American spaces. Depending on conditions, we may also spend a day in the resort.
In the evenings, we will do as we please, between restaurants or good meals at home, rodeo, filthy bar, casino and gogo dancers.
This is an exploration trip, tailor-made to our desires of the moment.
D8:Return flight to France.
The price includes
- Supervision by UIAGM mountain guide for 7 days of ski touring.
- Trip organization.
- Vehicle rental for 8 days.
- Transfers from the airport to the start of the hikes.
- Accommodation in a comfortable rental house (double room if possible) or camper van.
- Guide's travel and accommodation expenses.
The price does not include
- Return flights to Salt Lake City.
