Description
Come and discover a sporty canyoning course above Ancelle in the Champsaur valley.
The Peyron Roux canyon proposes a complete and representative course. It is ideal for those who love the thrill of canyoning, and want to learn the technique and autonomy in the activity. Far from the crowds and the beaten tracks, this canyon faces due south, so the descent is made under the sun.
Between an initial vertiginous section and an aquatic end, the descent is punctuated by abseils, slides and jumps, culminating in the 50-meter waterfall! This long abseil is breathtaking. It takes us into the final part of the Rouannette full canyon, where jumps and slides up to 6 meters long can be repeated at will.
The trip takes around 4 hours and can be completed by people who have not necessarily done canyoning before. You will need to be at least athletic to complete the 40-minute uphill approach walk, and be comfortable hiking in the mountains. You must be at least 12 years old and be able to swim. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any medical problems.

Program
- Departure in the early afternoon, for around 4 hours of activity.
- Meeting point: Ancelle ski resort parking lot (zip code 05260), about 20 minutes' drive northeast of Gap in the Champsaur valley.
- I will then carpool my 8-seater car to the canyon parking lot in Rouanne Haute, at the bottom of the Rouanne valley.
- Approach walk of 40 minutes.
- 3 hours down the canyon.
- 5-minute return walk to the parking lot.
- Return to Ancelle around 5.30/6pm.
The price includes
- Supervision by the canyoning instructor.
- Technical equipment: 5mm neoprene wetsuit, neoprene socks, harness with double lanyards, descender, helmet. But also suitable backpacks with watertight containers to carry your clothes and water bottles.
The price does not include
- Transport to and from Ancelle.
- Swimming suit + towel.
- Sneakers or mountain boots (shoes in good condition that fit well).
- Snacks.
- At least 1 liter of water (plastic bottle) for 2 people.
- A lanyard if you wear glasses.
- An elastic band to tie back long hair.
- Anything not mentioned in "The price includes".
