Advanced ski touring in Queyras or Ubaye

Description

Throughout the winter season, I offer ski tours in a wide variety of terrain, with slopes of up to 30 / 35 degrees on the way up and down, and in variable snow conditions.

In short, these outings are perfect for progressing and perfecting your ski touring skills!

During these days taking place in the Queyras and Ubaye mountains, you will also learn how to use an avalanche beacon in a multi-victim search, and how to organize a rescue operation.

You will also know about safety notions on the route (spacing, group management, etc.) and how to read the terrain and the dangers.

Throughout the outing, we will cover all the aspects that will enable you to progress in your ski touring.

If you are more of a beginner, I would recommend a discovery day of ski touring in Queyras or Ubaye. If you would like to make further progress and take on more challenging courses, you can go for some ski mountaineering in the Hautes-Alpes. And if you want to immerse yourself in the mountains, we recommend a 3-day ski touring raid in Queyras, Ubaye or Southern Écrins.

You can also come and work on your downhill technique during an off-piste and freeride skiing session in Val Thorens.

Program

• Departures are possible every day from December, so let me know your availabilities!
• Exact location to be determined the day before at the latest.
• Meet at 8am at the Guillestre bus station for car pooling, or directly at the start of the ski tour.
• Return to Guillestre around 4 / 5 pm.

The price includes

• Supervision by the mountain guide.
• Guide fees, if any.
• Loan of safety specific equipment (avalanche beacon, shovel, probe, etc.).
• First aid kit.

The price does not include

• Transport to and from the start of the hike or Guillestre, 40 minutes drive from Briançon and one hour from Gap.
• Participation in carpooling.
• Ski pass if any.
• Insurance covering ski touring.
• Picnic lunch and snacks.
• Drinks.
• Anything not mentioned in "The price includes".
