Description

Nestled in the mountains above Digne and overlooking the village of Prads-Haute-Bléone, the "Falaise de Meichira" via ferrata offers the chance to discover the stunning alpine landscape, all while being accessible to adventurers of all levels.

Due to its altitude, this route offers a pleasant experience in summer, with temperatures often cooler than those in the valley, making it ideal for those seeking a bit of refreshment.

After a quick ten-minute approach walk, the via ferrata on the Meichira cliff is a vertical adventure, with many steep passages to gain altitude and the possibility of using the rock to progress. A more difficult and physical variant with a few slight overhangs awaits the more athletic on the second half of the route. The void beneath your feet deepens as you progress, and your efforts are rewarded by the panoramic view of the magnificent mountain environment that surrounds you.

Due to constraints of the construction of the via and the norms of the gear, children must be at least 1m40 tall and weigh 40kg.
Minimum group size: 4 people. But if your group is between one and three people, a privatized outing is possible at the price of four people.

If you are looking for more vertical adventures in the region, you can follow me on the Rocher de Neuf Heures via ferrata in Digne-les-Bains and the Grande Fistoire via ferrata in La Motte-du-Caire.

And if this via has given you a taste for the vertical, why not try a full-day or half-day introduction to climbing around Digne-les-Bains?
