Description
The via ferrata of Saint-Christophe-en-Oisans is located in the Écrins massif, in a very wild place and in a refreshing atmosphere because you will evolve along the Vénéon river. Varied and fun, this route is suitable for people who want to learn the activity as well as for more experienced people.
The itinerary starts with the ascent of a rocky bar overhanging the tumultuous Vénéon, to quickly get in the mood! It continues with ascending traverses to the right until a 15 meter long suspended footbridge which is moving enough to give you some thrills. The atmosphere is vertiginous and the view on the high summits of the Écrins is amazing. The via ferrata continues by alternating ledges, slightly athletic walls, slabs, dihedral, with many natural holds on the rock. A last traverse and a vertiginous spur bring you to the road, near Saint-Christophe-en-Oisans.
If you still have some energy left after the outing, this area is full of beautiful landscapes and exceptional hikes, enough to fill your cameras!

Program
- Meeting point on the via ferrata parking lot downstream from Saint-Christophe-en-Oisans, about an hour drive from Grenoble (possibility to carpool from Grenoble).
- 2 minute walk to reach the start of the via ferrata.
- Duration of the course: from 2 to 3 hours.
- Return walk of 20 minutes to reach the car park.
- Altitude difference of the via ferrata: 344 meters of which we will do only the first section which is the most beautiful.
The price includes
- Supervision by the climbing instructor.
- Loan of the equipment necessary to the practice of the activity: harness, via ferrata lanyards with energy absborber, helmet.
- First aid kit.
- Decreasing rate according to the number of participants.
The price does not include
- Transport to and from the meeting place in Saint-Christophe-en-Oisans.
- Snacks.
- Drinks.
- Sneakers.
- Optional: on request, possibility to make photos and/or video of the outing (rate: 30€ for the group).
