Ski touring in Finnmark

Description

I propose you to join me for a road and ski trip up to the northernmost tip of Norway, in Finnmark.

In the heart of Norwegian Lapland, Finnmark is a group of islands and peninsulas, north of Alta. A few houses on the edge of the fjord, fishing boats moored in each village, snow right up to the beach and summits where it is good to ski in complete freedom: here is your program for this ski touring stay!

Indeed, we will spend a week to take altitude and to ski above the sea, wherever we want, in a snow to be damned! And at nightfall, it will be time to hunt for the aurora borealis which will not fail to come and visit us.

Throughout the winter, I also offer to discover ski touring in the Cerces, Queyras or Écrins, snow and avalanche rescue training in Vars, and to enjoy snow during 3 days of freerando skiing in the Hautes-Alpes resorts.

Program

D1: Flight to Norway and arrival in Oslo.
Overnight in Oslo.

D2: Domestic flight to Finnmark and first ski touring outing.
Departure from Oslo to Alta at 8.30am, arrival at 10.30am.
Collection of the team and the vehicle.
Transfer to our first accommodation about 2 hours drive from Alta.
Ski touring in the afternoon or rest.

D3 to D5: Ski touring in the surroundings of Tappeluft and Langfjordbotn.
Ferry to Nuvsvag in the evening of D5.

We change accommodation and spend 3 nights in the area.

D6 to D9: Ski touring in the Nuvsvåg fjord.
Return and night in Alta at the end of D9.

D10: Return flight to Oslo.
Departure from Alta to Olso at 10.30am, arrival at 12.30pm.

I propose to rent two lodgings in two different fjords in order to vary the pleasures. As usual, there is no precise program: we will discover the surroundings by feeling, as I like. The program is indicative, and can change in terms of nights depending on availability.

We will be self-catering and we will prepare all our meals.

Note: In recent years, there have been no flights to and from Alta on Saturdays.
This means that you will have to spend a night in Oslo, which is an opportunity for you to visit the city.

On Sunday, we will take the first flight to enjoy the day.
For the return trip, plan flights from Olso to France later than 3pm only.

Accommodation

• In a comfortable chalet, with twin bed, at the water's edge and in isolated villages or fjords
• Jacuzzi in the second accommodation.
