Gorges du Llech canyon (Eastern Pyrenees)

Description

Located in the Eastern-Pyrenees department at the foot of the famous Canigou, the emblematic mountain of the Catalan region, the Llech (pronounced "yèque") is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful canyons in Europe. Its canyoning descent is very intense and thrilling, and is aimed at a well-prepared sporting public. Above all, it takes place in an absolutely magnificent setting! There is no doubt that this is an itinerary that all outdoor enthusiasts must have tried at some point.

All along the canyoning descent, you alternate slides in superb and well-watered natural slides and abseils under waterfalls, perched at a height of tens of meters. The course is playful and varied, with also some moments of walking and swimming in the cool and crystal-clear waters of the Llech river.

During the technical section with sensations, you enjoy jumps from 4 to 9 meters high (never mandatory) to throw yourself in impressive basins, as well as 7 abseils from 5 to 17 meters, not forgetting slides from 2 to 12 metres long, often with evocative names: the washing machine, the S, the surprise slide, etc.

But I would rather not tell you more than that, to leave you with a few surprises!

For more comfort and conviviality, the outing is done in small groups of 8 persons maximum.

If you feel like other water adventures, I also propose several very beautiful canyons in the Pyrénées-Orientales:

• the Galamus gorges canyon,
• the Molitg-les-Bains canyon,
• the Gourg des Anelles canyon in Céret,
• the Taurinya canyon,

Program

• Meeting point in Prades, about 40 minutes drive from Perpignan.
• Equipment distribution and briefing.
• 30 minutes walk to the start of the canyon.
• Approximately 3 to 4 hours of canyoning descent, with learning of the safety techniques.
• 40 minutes walk back to the parking lot.

The price includes

• Supervision by the canyoning instructor.
• The technical equipment necessary for the practice of the activity (neoprene suit, helmet, harness, belay device, etc.).
• Canyoning shoes.
