Infos & BookingDescription
The Mardi Himal trekking is a newly opened route and a hidden treasure in the Annapurna region.
This trek is the best destination to avoid the crowds. It offers spectacular views of the Annapurna range. It is a peaceful trekking route currently used by few trekkers.
Although food and accommodation options on the route are still limited, the Mardi Himal trek is an ever-pleasant trekking route that requires a minimum of effort. The route takes about a week for a long trip in the Himalayas, through small Nepalese villages that offer breathtaking views of snowy peaks, making it an interesting trek compared to other popular treks in the Annapurna region.
In short, this is one of the best treks away from the crowds and more commercial routes.
I also propose other trips in this beautiful Annapurna region:
- the Nar Phu valley trek,
- the Dhaulagiri balcony and Mardi Himal base camp trekking,
- and a trek in the nearby Mustang.
Program
D1: Kathmandu.
Arrival and welcome at the airport then transfer to your hotel.
D2: Kathmandu-Phedi-Dhampus (1650m).
About 8 hours by Deluxe bus to Phedi. Then a 1-2 hour walk through lush forest and countryside to the village of Dhampus where you spend your first night.
D3: Dhampus-Pothana-Camp forest (2550m).
The trail passes through a forest populated by birch, giant rhododendrons, mountain oaks and maple trees, then through the jungle, before reaching the top of a ridge. On the way we can see the South Annapurna.
About 6 hours of walking, overnight in lodge.
D4: Forest Camp-Low Camp (2900)-High Camp (3550m).

About 6 hours walk, overnight in lodge.
D5: High Camp-Low Camp-Sidhing (1700m).
Beautiful descent first on the ridge and then back to the rhododendron forest which blooms in late March/early April.

A beautiful descent brings us to Lwang, a beautiful Gurung village in the heart of the Nepalese "hills". You will discover the life of the villages surrounded by numerous rice terraces. In the distance we can still see the snowy peaks of the Annapurnas.
About 3 to 4 hours of walking, overnight in lodge.
