Jean-Marc HERMES

I have been a mountain leader for over 30 years. I have always lived in Savoie and I have been in the mountains since I was very young. It is quite naturally that, by passion and desire to practice a job related to the outdoors, I chose this job. I also have a Master II "Sustainable development and mountain territories", passed at the University of Savoie.

I work for the Bureau Montagne des Arves, a group mainly located in Maurienne, in the Arves valley (Saint-Sorlin and Saint-Jean-d'Arves).

During the winter, we supervise tourists and snowshoeing groups (adults and schools) in these ski resorts.

In the summer, we organize hikes on various themes: wildlife observation, aquatic hiking, Nordic walking, family hikes, snacks in the alpine pastures, dinner under the stars and of course more sporting hikes (for a day, for two days with overnight in a hut or tent).

Over the years and my professional practice, I have specialized a little in areas such as the human environment (heritage, mountain farming ...), botany ... without neglecting the other aspects of the mountain environment.

I propose circuits and stays in our massif but also in Vanoise and in the Southern Alps, and destinations abroad to discover other horizons: Italy, Austria, Morocco, Bulgaria ...

I also manage a training center: the Training Center for Mountain, Environment and Sport, or CIMMES for short.
I mainly offer weekend training courses on naturalistic themes.
I have also collaborated as a trainer with several training centers and schools: GRETA Savoie, IPAC Annecy, Lycée des Métiers of the mountain of Saint-Michel-de-Maurienne, the University of Savoie.

It is with pleasure that I will accompany you on the paths of these mountains, to share with you my passion and my experience.
