Description

Just 2 hours from Marseille, I'm offering you a 4-day getaway with friends to disconnect and walk, be outdoors, camp in nature, all accompanied by donkeys, those great companions...

This trek is an opportunity to spend 4 days in the heart of nature, in the Baronnies of Provence, not far from Sisteron.

On the program: beautiful hikes, panoramic bivouacs at the end of the world and lovely evenings under the stars. The friendly atmosphere is enhanced by the presence of the donkeys, who transform the hike into a small, friendly, self-sufficient caravan. It's a trip that's all about good humor and disconnection!

On the same principle, you can follow me on family hikes with donkeys in the Baronnies of Provence and roaming in the Vercors. In late spring, you can also come with me to hike with donkeys and celebrate the transhumance in the Die region.

Program

D1: Eourres (1000m) - Egalayes (850m).
Arrival in Eourres in the late morning, by train or car, via the spectacular Méouge gorges, where crystal-clear water flows into beautiful basins. Welcome to Claire and Eva's Bamboul'âne farm. Clinging to the mountain, on the edge of the village of Eourres, in a haven of calm and greenery in the heart of the Baronnies park, the farm and its small campsite will not leave you indifferent.
After meeting the donkeys and doing a briefing, we load up and set off on our first day's walk over the Col de Séouze. Arriving at our bivouac site near Egalayes, we are in contact with the wilderness while enjoying the comfort of the equipment carried by our donkeys. After tending to our donkeys, we set up camp and share a delicious meal, followed by an evening under the stars.
3 hours and a half of walking, positive altitude difference: 200 meters, negative altitude difference: 350 meters.
Overnight in tents.

D2: Egalayes - Chamouse mountain (1400m).
Today we climb to the Chamouse mountain pasture.  We pass through Izon-la-Bruisse, a charming hamlet whose history is marked by that of the Resistance.
We bivouac in the mountains, with a breathtaking view of the Baronnies regional nature park.
4 hours and a half of  walking, D+: 600m, D-: 100m.
Overnight in tents.

D3: Chamouse - Fontaine des Chanaux (1200m).
Our day follows a wild itinerary. We thread our way through woods and green clearings at the foot of imposing rocky outcrops. We cross a superb forest that leads us to the Fontaine des Chanaux. Beautiful panoramas await us: the Montagne de Palle, the Écrins massif and even the Cévennes... and the majestic Mont Ventoux!
We bivouac below the peaks in a magnificent setting.

Overnight in tents.

D4: Fontaine des Chanaux - Eourres (1000m).
We make our way gently up the Méouge valley to the village of Eourres with its yurts. Perched at an altitude of 1000 meters, Eourres is a village in constant transformation. Men and women from everywhere are getting involved, experimenting with new individual and collective lifestyles as an alternative to the consumer society.
